Frequently Asked Questions

About our chocolate products at Soul House Sweets

Whether it’s a birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, or a special occasion, you can never go wrong with gifting chocolate. However, if you have never purchased artisan chocolates before, you may have questions about the whole experience. We have put some answers to the most frequently asked questions about Soul House Sweets and our products.

Are Soul House Sweets’ chocolates gluten-free?

Yes! Our kitchen is not certified gluten-free however, all ingredients used in our chocolate creations are either certified or naturally gluten-free. We do not work with gluten within the shop. I am severely gluten intolerant so I appreciate how personal allergies and intolerances can be. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Are Soul House Sweets’ chocolates nut-free?

We do not use peanuts, almonds, and other tree nuts in our products however we do use WALNUTS on our Maple Walnut Milk Chocolate Bars. To help minimize any risk of cross contamination, we have designated production days for this bar and we are diligent with our cleaning procedures. I have an anaphylactic allergy to almonds so I am aware of the risks of cross contamination. For this reason some of our chocolate products say they “may contain nut”. If you have questions feel free to contact us.

What is a Beau-bons?

A Beau-bon is a butter-cream chocolate ganache filled bon-bon that is made in Beaumont!

What is the best way to store our Beau-bons?

Our Beau-bons are made with real crème and should be stored around 20C. and away from any heat sources, including sunlight and heat vents. They can also get kept in a cool basement with less than fifty percent humidity, like a wine cooler. The least optimum place to store chocolates is in the fridge, but it can be considered if it’s the only option.

What is the shelf life of our Beau-bons?

We do not use added preservatives in our Beau-bons. They should be consumed within 2 weeks of purchase. They can be frozen in tightly sealed plastic and defrosted in the fridge for 24 hours. Allow them to reach room temperature before serving.

Do you make your own chocolate?

Kerri is a Chocolatier and not a chocolate maker. She sources all of our chocolate from Belgium and France to make her creations.

Do we have a Store Front?

We are just an online shop. We work out of a small commercial kitchen that is attached to our historical home. It is difficult to have people in the space during production. Chocolate is the boss and does not like to be interrupted. If you would like a private tasting please contact us for more information.

Do you Ship?

We can ship within Canada at specific times of the year. Please contact us for more information.

Do you offer wholesale prices?
